Writing for Lower Secondary (WLS)Form 1 Cohort 2

Course Description

This course focuses on the significance of essay writing, parts and features of writing, text types with emphasis on narrative, expository, descriptive, and persuasive, approaches to teaching writing, pedagogical principles for teaching writing, and designing activities and materials for teaching writing.

• This course will be delivered using Google Classroom. 

• A formal MoE Google account is needed to access this course.

Learning Outcomes

1. Describe parts and features of different types of texts that students need to learn to develop writing skills. 

2. Apply different approaches to develop writing skills based on text types.

3. Design materials for teaching and learning of writing according to text types and student level.
